Should always be used when applicable. Coöperate, not cooperate or co-operate.

Math

Negative numbers
Should be represented with U+207B, Superscript Minus (⁻); i.e. Negative thirty minus three: ⁻30−3
Historically represented with a superscripted minus sign (−); i.e. Negative thirty minus three: 30−3. Deprecated due to inferior semantics and NVDA compatibility.
More thought needs to go into this; NVDA doesn’t read a single ‘minus’ character correctly.
